Afternoon tea

Photobucket
My weekend started last Wednesday with a family gathering at Fawsley Hall for afternoon tea. My mum, gran, sister and I decided to have a little treat before the madness of the weekend began.

It was the first afternoon tea I think I've had and it was delicious, fresh mint tea, tiny sandwiches, buttered crumpets, cakes and pastries and my favourite scones with jam and clotted cream... The setting is gorgeous too, a luxury country hotel dating back to the 7th century surrounded by rolling hills.

We ate in the Great Hall which was very cosy despite the high ceilings, with fires roaring, candles burning and us curling up on huge armchairs. If you are ever in the Northamptonshire area I'd thoroughly recommend treating yourselves to afternoon tea here.
