Party night

Last weeks party at Harvey Nichols had a glamourous dress code so I opted for a black boucle shift dress with random scattered sequins. Slightly more body hugging than i'd normally go for!

Purnell's - restauarant

Here's what we ate at Purnell's, Birmingham. Descriptions taken from the website. Apologies for the lack of quality in some photos - we just wanted to eat!

Goats’ cheese Royal and beetroot

Crispy sticks – watercress

Carpaccio of beef with red wine octopus
Home-corned beef – pickled onions

Pigeon and duck liver with pear
Tamarind – Savoy cabbage

Slow cooked piglet and confit parsnips with aubergine

Sage – black pudding

Chocolate and passion-fruit “Dome”

Warm chocolate – pineapple sorbet

Burnt English custard egg surprise with warm seasonal fruits

Candied lemon zest – quince sorbet

I ate the goats cheese, pigeon and chocolate passion fruit dome, all delicious, the pigeon especially and the service was impeccable.

Finally we made it out for our belated anniversary meal - you may remember the riots scuppered our plans a few months back! Matt took me to Purnells which is somewhere we've wanted to try for a few years now.

I'm not loving my hair in these pictures, will steer clear of the centre parting in future. I wore Chanel Rouge Noir lipstick and leopard shorts.

We're back to dark nights now so trying to find the best location around the apartment for night shots, the kitchen area seems to have the best lighting for now, apologies!

New in - ankle boots

My longer style harness boots have had so much wear over the last few years so I have been on the lookout for an ankle pair for a few weeks. Topshop have a great pair in but I got lucky when I found this new leather pair on Ebay for only £10.

Autumn tones

I guess this was my first autumnal feeling outfit with the shades and textures - knit and cord, at least it was a bright sunny day despite the chill in the air.

My Mulberry Roxanne is now out in use too, love this bag so much still.

Revlon - Facets of fuschia

Newest polish by Revlon, a sheer black polish with purple fushcia glitter in random sizes - very galactic!

I wore it over one coat of Revlon - Valentine and added one coat of Facets of fuschia plus topcoat.

I could get addicted to glitter polishes I think!

Autumn Winter 2011

I've deliberately put off this post for as long as possible trying to eek every warm day and blue sky out of the summer and I'm now feeling ready for the next season after that brilliant heatwave two weeks ago.

I've starting planning outfits to carry me through the next six months and realised I really need a new winter coat which has been added to the top of my list but still on the search for one. I've picked out a few items that I think i'll be wearing, incorporating these trends:
