Outfit was worn for dinner with friends. My trusty gold bag is still going strong and looks perfect even after I think five tough years of use.
I seem to have a strange shadow behind me on most of these photos making my shoulders look like an american footballers and a weird halo behind my head so please excuse! I can't wait for lighter nights and better photos again.

Chanel Mat top coat X Revlon Valentine
I painted my nails using the Chanel Mat Top coat again this weekend. This time over Revlon in Valentine. I'm so in love with this top coat and really recommend anyone to buy it. It transforms your polishes and I personally think matte nails look really chic and that little bit different.
You can view the first time I used it over Chanel Black pearl here

Blue metallic
At the weekend my family celebrated my Grandmother's 80th Birthday with a lunch at my Dad's. I opted for my new shimmery jumper, striped skirt and wedges.

Gifts
I was a very lucky person over Christmas (how long ago does it seem already!) and also my Birthday which was the week after. Here are some of my lovely gifts I received.
I can't pick a favourite but my cape has had a couple of wears already - it goes with everything!
What has been your best gift or buy recently?

Black lace
This weekend we attended one of my best friends wedding reception who had married in New York last month - Congratulations Susan!!
An all black combo featuring a few never worn items. The black lace top was a Christmas present from Matt, much like the American Apparel version I never bought with an additional gold zip running down the back. The Kurt Geiger clutch had its first outing adding a little colour. I re-discovered my MAC St Germain lipstick, i'd forgotton how much I like it!

New Year resolutions
I missed posting these at the start of the year but it's never too late!
Get fit - I do no exercise at all so anything will be an improvement, i'm writing off January already as i'm so busy but then i'll either join a gym or find some local classes.
College - One of my last years resolutions was to start a course at college and i've been going every week since September, I intend to carry on and sign up for the following year too. I should do a post on this soon and show you what i've been up to!
Website - This is a maybe, start some kind of travel site. I'm very into my travelling and intend to see a bit more of the world this year and would love to write about my experiences.
Shopping - Tick things off my wishlist. I'm going to start the year by trying to buy one or two items i've wanted for a while rather than buying bits and bobs here and there. My wishlist grows all of the time and a couple of the items have been on there for a year or two.
Camera - Buy myself a new camera and learn how to use it. Need to research this first.
Jeans - A random resolution but I must get all of my jeans taken up to the perfect length instead of rolling them under. I've been saying i'll do this for years. 2012 is the time!
Beauty - Not to buy any pots of lipbalm!! I have so many collecting dust as I hate dipping my fingers into the pot. Will only be buying sticks from now on.
There it is - fingers crossed and good luck with your lists.
Have a great weekend all, i'll be back next week with outfit posts and lots of new items over the last few weeks.

Jessica Geleration nails
I had an appointment for gel nails a few weeks ago. I'd won a competition by Le Petit Spa at Malmaison and could choose either a St Tropez spray tan or a Jessica Geleration nails. I've never had gel nails although my friends are all lovers and once i'd found out there is no damage to your natural nail I booked in.
I opted for a festive shimmery sparkly red. I love the colour and walking out of your appointment with dry smudgeproof nails that will hopefully last two weeks with no chipping is fantastic.
The only negative I had was the colour wasn't close enough to my cuticles, my thumb nail (on the other hand) is so far away it looked like two weeks growth.
I think they are a great idea for holidays but I won't be putting my lovely Revlon and Chanel polishes away just yet.
