New in: Chanel A/W 12 polishes

The first thing I do when I hear the Chanel new season collections are being released is do a quick google search to see the nail polishes and swatches. The Autumn Winter 12 collection is out now and of course I had to add a couple to my collection.

Frenzy was instant love, a light taupe grey. I have nothing similar which is always good. A nice neutral.

Vertigo I wasn't sure whether it was too similar to Paradoxal but on inspection they are quite different, this is a smoky black grey with a hint of brown and a very subtle burgandy shimmer in good light. I'm looking forward to wearing this when Autumn is in full swing.

Stretch aztec

At the weekend my friends and I hit a street food festival and gorged ourselves on some really delicious burgers, wood fired pizzas and churros before heading on to a bar for more drinks. I settled on a new skirt (I love aztec print so much) with boots, tee and a few accessories. I swapped the blazer for a cardigan in the end to dress it down a little but prefer it with the blazer. 

I hope you all had a great Bank holiday weekend, they're all over now till, dare I say it Christmas......! I'm still holding out hope for a few more lovely warm days, i'm not quite ready to pull out the tights and coats just yet although i'm spying more and more clothes which are piling up on my Autumn wishlist.

Blog i'm loving

The latest blog i'm loving is Classy Girls Wear Pearls. All beautifully shot in some stunning locations. Sarah wears classic American preppy clothes alongside her equally gorgeous friends, I feel like i'm flicking through a Ralph Lauren brochure. I always think Sarah reminds me a little of Kate Middleton? (slightly more fun and less formal than the royal) Am I right?!

San Francisco memories

More of my travel photos today.

I landed at San Francisco airport nearly six years ago on my own for an adventure travelling down the coast of California meeting up with Matt halfway. It was the middle of December and as you can see from the photos I was very lucky with the weather, sunny skies nearly every day.

Being alone wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it could be, i'd made friends within half a day in the hostel I was staying in. (fairly grim but very social!) I spent my days walking miles around the city, from China town, Union Square, Fishermans Wharf, Coit tower and Haight Ashbury. My new friends and I rented bikes and cycled past colourful houses up to and across the Golden Gate bridge down into Sausalito for lunch looking back to the San Fransico skyline, then catching the ferry with our bikes sailing past Alcatraz. We wrapped up in the evenings and huddled under outdoor heaters drinking outside little wine bars.

One day I will be back in this amazing city as I still haven't seen it all, I really want to experience some of the great restaurants i've read about (when not on a backpackers budget!) maybe in summer this time.....

As the crow flies

A departure from my recent sickly sweet outfits and pastel colours. I threw this on for an impromtu dinner at the pub on a warm summers evening.

This top is really quite unflattering, so loose and oversized yet I love it so much. It's really soft, I like the slightly morbid crow with irridescent feathers and the slashed cut out sleeves and best of all the washed grey colour.

I wore this top a few months back when I paired it with shorts here. Which do you prefer?

Anderson's - Birmingham

A few photos from the dinner we had last week for our anniversary. Anderson's is the place to go if you want  a locally sourced, perfectly cooked steak. My mouth is watering thinking about it! We had really good service too.

Matt opted for the scallops from the specials board followed by mixed grilled meats and I went for my favourite chicken liver parfait followed by the Shorthorn sirloin on the bone. We barely touched our side dishes we were so full from the meat.

Best of all it's only a few steps outside of our front door. ....
