For the entire summer I have been waiting impatiently for my holiday and now it's finally here. Myself, Matt, Caroline and Martyn will be landing in Las Vegas town very soon!
I have never been before so will be going with an open mind, to be honest I want the full on bright lights, casino, gambling, show performance experience! If any of you have any must see / eat / shop / drink places while i'm there please drop me a line in the comments. As much as I love guide books a friendly recommendation is even better. I can't wait to report back! x I've scheduled a few posts so will be back responding and visiting your blogs soon.
At the weekend my friend Anna and I met up for lunch and decided to try out a recently opened cafe. We loved it, the decor is fantastic based on a New York coffee shop, it's quirky with individual chairs gathered round tables with potted greenery.
The menu is chalked around the walls with a small retail section where you can buy British jams, sauces and other goodies.
Anna went for the scrambled egg on toast (minus smoked salmon) and I opted for a sundried tomato, tomato, mozzarella and pesto salad. Both were fresh and tasty. We sat there for a good few hours with the papers and a couple of coffees each never feeling rushed. Our only critisism was we would have liked some American pancakes / waffles and syrup added to the all day breakfast section!
You can find Home is Where.... in Birmingham city centre on Church Street directly opposite Hotel Du Vin.
A few more items i'd love for this Autumn. I've loved burgandy for a while and looking forward to unpacking my pieces from last year. Cream and emerald green are the perfect partner to burgandy I think and i'd love to swing the mini 3.1 Phillip Lim pashli from my shoulder with the McQ scarf around my neck.
I'd really like these boots, I keep thinking about them and how much they'd go with jeans, shorts and dresses with tights. I need some patent in my life!
I'm already being pulled towards winter colours and i'm automatically reaching for black. I wore this a few weeks back on a very warm day for a networking lunch.
The shorts are new, i've been hunting for a black denim pair that didn't have that high vintage waist. I love the look of the high waisted style they just don't suit me, these have a standard rise, little frayed edges and are nicely loose on the legs (which is a must for me and much more flattering than skin tight shorts).
Blazer - H&M
Tee - Forever 21
Shorts - All Saints
Sandals - Zara
Bag - Mulberry
Necklace - From Uruguay
Watch - Michael Kors
This blazer decided it had had enough wear and the hem unravelled whilst at a fashion show last week (for the price it really has lasted well) so i'm now on the hunt for a new one of a better quality this weekend. I can't live without a black blazer so if you have spotted any please let me know!
Last weekend I spent the afternoon with my family at Kelmarsh Hall in Northamptonshire.
It was a beautiful day, sunny and balmy. I always think that England is a hard country to beat when the countryside is bathed in a late summer glow and the temperatures are in the high 20oCs.
The hall is set in stunning grounds as you will see from the photos and there was a little farmers market set outside the front selling produce from the grounds.
The walled garden is gorgeous, flower beds set around a crooked cottage with all sorts of roses, fruits, vegetables and herbs. The chickens have a little posh looking roost! The rest of the grounds have benches parked in vantage points and the tables set at the back of the house overlook a lake sitting in front of rolling English countryside.
We visited the little cafe inside and ordered some cream teas and took a table outside soaking up the last of the sunshine.
